Truly one to watch in the alt rock scene, Hotel Mira has an extremely polished and professional sound worthy of great things.
Formed in Vancouver in 2010, Canadian alt rock band Hotel Mira hit huge success with their album "Perfectionism" in 2020 and have since gone from strength to strength in their songwriting. Having been known as JPNSGRLS for years, and being nominated for the Sirius XM Canada Independent Music Award for Emerging Artist Of The Year, the band was forced to rebrand as Hotel Mira in 2018 after a lineup change.
"Waste Away" begins with a simple driving beat using synth bass and drums before opening up to create space in the bridge. The chorus crashes in with huge cymbal driven drums and layered guitars. The gang vocal style used in the chorus creates a massive sound and it's easy to hear this track booming out at a festival with the sun shining and crowds singing along.
This band have aready achieved more than the majority of artists in todays music industry, but their new release really shows that they have a lot more to give and are sure to go on to even bigger things in the near future.
