Music Spotlight: Mountain With "Tsunamical"

Angsty bass and poppy melodies make this duo truly unique.

Old friends Melanie and Zac reconnected in a virtual space between the UK and Bulgaria and quickly began creating music together. Despite being 1700 miles apart they film their own music videos using videophones and a record the music all as a team effort which adds an extremely unique dynamic to this intriguing duo.

The music video for "Tsunamical" begins with dial tones, a phone ringing and a brief film quote which adds a great ear candy moment for the listener to become enthralled in this piece. The music begins with an aggressive synth bass and thumping drum pattern as Melanie's eerie narrative vocal sets the scene for this track. The chorus breaks this theme with a more uplifting sound and catchy vocal melody as more synths are added to harmonise and give a big sound to the track. It's difficult to put this song into a single genre, and the DIY aspect adds so much to it. This is a great offering from a very interesting artist.
