Music Spotlight: TATE SEDAR With Post-EDM Remix of The 1975's "Oh Caroline"

Updated: Apr 16

A refreshing take on an indie pop classic, by an extremely talented up and coming artist.

Born in San Francisco, TATE SEDAR grew up on both coasts of the Atlantic Ocean (US & UK). Attending Point Blank Music School in London for DJing, he focused his education on music business, production, engineering and songwriting, and now lives in Hollywood. He looks to redefine digital music after winning a performance on the EDC Virtual Rave-a-Thon (Insomniac Discovery Project 2020) and mixing alongside the likes of Dada Life and Don Diablo. He has created a sound that he believes to be the next phase of electronic music. Defined as "post-EDM," and inspired by Motown, disco, hip-hop and rock, his new sound fuses elements from the EDM era while using both analog and digital instrumentation. In 2023 he amassed 5.7m plays and solidified himself on the Insomniac Events artist roster.

His remix of "Oh Caroline" by The 1975 is extremely imaginative, building and releasing tension like classic EDM tracks you'd hear in the club, while featuring the nostalgic chord patterns of The 1975 and the iconic vocal tone of Matty Healy. The raised tempo of the track makes it incredibly danceable and energetic. This remix is extremely refreshing and well produced, and its easy to imagine the great reception it would receive when played in a nightclub.
