A gripping backstory and instantly recognisable musical talent make Tende one of the most interesting artists releasing music in 2024.
Tende Kasha's early years were shadowed by the war raging in Luanda, Angola where he was born. His parents sent him to Portugal at the age of ten to avoid the conflict and uncertainty of the future of his home. Despite battling vocal cord spasms that threatened to silence his voice, Tende became a natural singing talent from a young age and fell in love with percussion and music. His debut album "Inner Tune" was released in 2017, followed by singles "Peace And Love" in 2020 and "Shinning Star" in 2021.
"Mr Liar" begins with a relaxed acoustic guitar melody before the percussion and electric guitar lift the mood of the track into a classic reggae beat that effortlessly transports you to a sunny beach scene. The optimistic sound of the instruments is contrasted by the lyrics which talk about the stress of modern life and relationships. This contrast is reminiscent of the greats of old, with the ability to tell stories of hardship and loss while maintaining a positive overall sound.
