An extremely strong debut single, I'm excited to see what this band achieves. They are definitely ones to watch for 2024.
The Kyle Jordan Project is a dynamic musical collaboration with Kyle Jordan (guitars and drums), Greg Van Kerkhof (vocals) and Katie Burke (vocals) as the core members while featuring a range of musicians from around the world on different songs. The group are known for their unique fusion of tradition and innovation in roots music, and exploring the cultural impact of music while maintaining a modern flair.
"Loved By You" is the bands debut single and begins with beautiful overlapping guitar melodies before the soundscape thins out to allow Greg's vocals to shine. Lyrically the song talks about the struggles of using drink and drugs to cope with the sadness of a breakup. In the third verse, Katie's emotional vocals come soaring in turning this track into an iconic duet. The voices in this song work incredibly well together creating gorgeous harmonies and perfectly conveying the emotion of the song.
