Birmingham based rock trio Mutes are known for genre defying, immersive soundscapes and this track is no different.
"Barely Living Proof" is the latest single from the band's forthcoming full length album "...buried where you stand" and tackles ideas of existential turmoil. Beginning with a descending guitar melody, driving drums and somber vocals, the song builds suspense from the off. Vocal harmonies in the chorus add to the depth of the vocal and really drive home the message of the lyrics. The post punk style of this track is extremely engaging, while the experimental psychedelic progressions keep the you guessing and always wanting more. The song comes to a climax towards the end, rocketing into a massive chorus with the distorted guitar sound at the forefront and the drums driving harder than ever before.
